Catrin Media is a San Francisco-based creative agency specializing in brand films and advertising. Our name comes from a Mexican cultural icon born in the revolution; a well-dressed skeleton with a simple but powerful message: we all share the same bones, regardless of appearances. We carry that idea into how we work with our clients: we analyze, we dig, we find the human elements at the center of a brand: the “bones”, and we build creative work around them. Because what makes a company irreplaceable isn't only what they do, but who they are.

Verve already had distinct personalities baked into every coffee blend, so we took them literally. “Bronson” became a deadpan story about a grumpy old man and the reveal of his soft side. “Aster” became a bubbly, free-spirited twenty-something at a campsite. The underlying idea: great coffee has a personality worth meeting.

Sim builds agentic workflow automation software that takes the repetitive, time-consuming work off human plates so people can focus on what actually matters. That idea became the creative foundation for this series. Each piece follows the same concept applied to different workflows: a man, alone, grinding through the kind of tedious task no one should still be doing by hand. In a market flooded with AI demos and technical explainers, we felt Sim needed work that felt like a world, not a walkthrough. We built a visual language around retro sci-fi nostalgia: white void environments, vintage props, cool neutral tones, synth-heavy sound. The three pieces in this series were filmed like single-shot short films instead of product videos.
